Purpose

The Tremont United Methodist Child Care Center (TUMCCC) is a mission project of the Tremont United Methodist Church in Tremont. The Center was established in 1989 to provide full-day childcare for the benefit of children, parents and the community. It also provides both a preschool and a school age program. TUMCCC is open from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and serves children ages 6 weeks through 12 years. The Center is licensed through the Department of Children and Family Services.

We believe that each child is a child of God and should have every opportunity to develop physically, intellectually, emotionally, socially and spiritually to the fullest potential. We are called to ministry, caring for children, showing concern for families, and providing support and nurturing for our own families in this congregation and the surrounding community. This program is one way for our church to live out the message of God's love, expressed through Jesus Christ.

Goals

For The Children:
To provide a healthy, safe environment to meet individual needs

To enhance sensor, cognitive, self-help, social, emotional and physical development

To encourage self-confidence and self-esteem

To provide a nutritious food program promoting good eating habits

To promote self-expression through language, dramatic play, music, arts and crafts

To enhance enthusiastic and creative learning

To foster a sense of responsibility and independence

To promote cooperation, sharing and self-control

To provide a varied and stimulating environment

To learn the main biblical stories of the Christian faith

To grown in the belief that each person is worthy of God's love and the love of other human beings
 

For The Parents:
To provide a nurturing, home-like atmosphere for their children while they pursue their work or studies

To create an opportunity to meet and work with other parents and teachers who have as a common concern the interest and needs of all children
 

For The Community:
To provide a program that contributes to the wholesome growth and development of its future citizens

To provide a setting where people of varying backgrounds can work together

Enrollment Information

Programs offered at Tremont United Methodist Childcare Center:
Childcare - 6 weeks to age 5

Preschool - ages 3, 4, and 5

Discount Policy:
A family with 2 or more children enrolled in the Center will receive a 20% discount on the fee for the second child and any additional children (the lesser of 2 amounts).
